Addepar is the leading fintech software for wealth managers to track their clients’ portfolio.
I led product design for Addepar's Billing app from Beta to GA. A highlight was presenting the Fee Reconciliation feature to our clients at AddeConf. In 2023, I switched teams to lead design for Addepar's Reporting app. There I led user research with enterprise clients to define a product vision.

Collecting payments
Problem
You are a thriving wealth management firm that’s built a reputation of trust by managing assets for high-net-worth clients. Every quarter, you need to accurately collect millions of dollars from thousands of clients. Beyond regulatory compliance, you want to be transparent with your clients, and it's an utter mess. Your current process is manual and prone to errors, making it difficult to reconcile outstanding bills.
Solution
Addepar's billing app streamlines your payment collection process. The back end compares the billed fee amount to the received amount and automatically reconciles any outstanding payments. On the front end, we surface outstanding bills to the operations team, who can swiftly and confidently exception manage them, realizing revenue faster.
Reporting Vision
Problem
Addepar launched a top-notch reporting app for wealth managers in 2009. It initially served single-family offices. As its user base grew to include large RIAs and Banks the platform faced issues with scaling. A confusing mental modal, manual processes, and poor discoverability deterred advisors and operators. Addepar reporting was falling behind the times.
Solution
In 2023, I surfaced insights from research with subject matter experts and enterprise clients to form a product vision. This vision helped shape the roadmap. We created a modernized app that empowered operations team to generate reports at scale. I helped expand our market segment by designing a user flow that aligned with how financial advisors construct reports.
Distributing reports
Problem
To run a successful wealth management firm, you need to clearly communicate each client's financial story. This involves distributing reports to thousands of clients and their stakeholders. Their lawyers, accountants, business partners, and family members. Yet, the current manual process is tedious and error-prone during a critical client touchpoint.
Solution
Financial advisors can now streamline the process. They can schedule a report to publish every quarter to each contact's Portal, an app to track their investments. This solution respects a preference set in each contact's profile. It ensures efficient communication tailored to each stakeholder. Wealth management firms can now focus on crafting reports, not the tedium of distribution.
Dose of Design
Problem
Addepar’s design team was expanding globally and needed a way to share-out design updates more regularly across the organization.
Solution
Dose of Design is a series of simple and short videos made by designers. Each video either shares a fun fact, explains a concept, or teaches something new. Dose of Design videos are shared weekly on Fridays. Each quarter, the Design Digest gathers the latest videos.
